Carl J. Landicino
Carl J. Landicino is a judge for the 2nd Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division. He assumed office on August 3, 2023. His term ended on December 31, 2025.
Landicino is also a judge of the New York Supreme Court 2nd Judicial District. His current term ends on January 1, 2040.
Landicino (Democratic Party, Republican Party, Conservative Party) ran in a special election for judge of the New York Supreme Court 2nd Judicial District. He won in the special general election on November 4, 2025.
Kathy Hochul (D) appointed Landicino to the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division 2nd Department on July 28, 2023.
Biography
Landicino earned his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Rochester. He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University Law School in 1990.[1] Landicino began his career as an attorney with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. After that, he joined the firm Genovesi, Berman and Genovesi, and later became a partner. Prior to his election to the bench he worked as a partner in the firm Borchert, Genovesi, LaSpina and Landicino P.C.[1]

Landicino was elected to the Supreme Court 2nd Judicial District on November 8th with 15.6 percent of the vote. He was cross-endorsed by the Democratic, Republican and Conservative parties. Other successful candidates for the six open seats on the court were: Justice David Friedman, Justice Betsy Barros, Justice Lawrence S. Knipel, Acting Justice Johnny Lee Baynes, and Acting Justice Rachel Adams.[2][3][4]
