Carla Moore
Carla D. Moore was a judge on the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals.[1] She was elected to the court on November 2, 2004, and assumed office on February 9, 2005. Moore was re-elected in 2010. Her last six-year term ended on February 8, 2017.[2][3]
Education
Moore received her undergraduate degree in German language from the University of Akron and her J.D. from The Ohio State University College of Law.[1]
Career
Moore was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1977. Before becoming a judge, she practiced as an attorney with the law firm of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, L.P.A. She also worked in the Ohio Attorney General's Office and as the chief of the Appellate Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio. She then served as a judge for 15 years on the Akron Municipal Court before her election to the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals in 2004.[1]
Elections
2010
Moore was re-elected in 2010. She defeated Republican William Wellemeyer in the general election, receiving 57.6 percent of the vote.[3]
