Carlos Alvarez (Illinois)
Carlos Alvarez (Republican Party) ran for election to the Illinois House of Representatives to represent District 22. Alvarez lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Alvarez was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 9 of the Illinois House of Representatives. Alvarez was removed from the ballot on January 10, 2014, after the Board of Election Commissioners for the City of Chicago found that Alvarez had an insufficient amount of valid signatures.[1]

Elections for the Illinois House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on March 18, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was December 2, 2013. Incumbent Arthur Turner II was set to face Tonya H. Hunter in the Democratic primary, but Hunter withdrew from the race before the primary, leaving Turner unopposed. Myles Lloyd Tobin was set to face Carlos Alvarez in the Republican primary, but Alvarez was removed from the ballot on January 10, 2014, leaving Tobin unopposed. Tobin was removed from the ballot prior to the general election, allowing Turner to run unopposed.[2][3][4]
