Cedeno was a candidate for the 2011 Democratic Party nomination for District 20 of the New Jersey General Assembly. Cedeno was bracketed with Tony Monteiro in the June 7 primary. Incumbents Joseph Cryan and Annette Quijano defeated Cedeno and Monteiro for the Democratic nomination.[1][2]
