Carlos Pomares (Democratic Party) is a member of the Essex County Board of County Commissioners in New Jersey, representing District 5. He assumed office on January 1, 2021. His current term ends in 2027.
Pomares (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Essex County Board of County Commissioners to represent District 5 in New Jersey. He won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
At the time of his 2017 run for the board of chosen freeholders, Pomares was an at-large member of the Bloomfield City Council.[1]
Biography
Pomares earned a B.A. in history from Caldwell University and an M.A. in museum professions from Seton Hall University.[2]
Pomares' professional experience includes work as the executive director of the Cuban Artists Fund and as a lecturer in history and political science at Hudson County Community College. He has also served as a commissioner of the Bloomfield Parking Authority, a trustee of the Montclair Arts Council, and a member of the Bloomfield Historic District Review Board.[2]
