Carlos Rendo is a candidate who ran on the Republican ticket for lieutenant governor of New Jersey in the 2017 election. He and gubernatorial nominee Kim Guadagno were defeated in the November 7, 2017, election. He was selected by Kim Guadagno as her running mate on July 27, 2017.[1]

Biography

Born in Cuba in the 1960s, Rendo fled the country with his family and grew up in Union City, New Jersey, graduating from Emerson High School. A licensed attorney, Rendo specializes in immigration law, and was a founding partner at the Mulkay and Rendo law firm.[1][2]

Political career

Mayor of Woodcliff Lake (2015-2017)

Rendo was elected mayor of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, in 2015. At the time he was selected as Guadagno's running mate, Rendo was still in office.[1]
