Davis won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of Sacramento County in California outright in the primary on June 7, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.

Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Davis' appointment on April 28, 2020, identified Davis as a Democrat.[1]
