|I have actively worked for my community and advocated for its people, demonstrating the type of work I will continue as a representative in Topeka, fighting for the rights of my constituents. Many politicians get confused about their role and make it about themselves, voting for their own beliefs. But at the end of the day, it's about what the community wants. When you get out, know the people in your community, and talk to them regularly, you understand what they need, and that’s what you fight for.
I am committed to going door-to-door, canvassing, and letting those in my community and district know exactly who I am. My ongoing advocacy speaks for itself. I am not just a proud Kansan, but a proud Wichitan.- I will ensure our community has access to essential healthcare services by supporting Medicaid expansion in Kansas.
- "I am deeply committed to ensuring quality education for all children and supporting our dedicated teachers. My priority is to ensure that every school receives full funding and has an adequate number of teachers and resources. It is essential that each educational institution provides a conducive environment for teaching and learning."
- Fair Tax in which i will encourage public participation in budgeting processes to ensure that tax policies reflect the community’s priorities and needs.
These are just a few principles that help ensure that elected officials can effectively represent and advocate for their constituents, making decisions that are most important to those in their district.
1. Representation: Acting as the voice of the constituents, ensuring their concerns, needs, and interests are heard and addressed.
2. Legislation: Developing, proposing, and voting on laws and policies that benefit the community, particularly in areas such as child welfare, family support, economic development, and social justice.
3. Transparency and Accountability: Maintaining open communication with the public, being transparent about decisions and actions, and holding oneself accountable for outcomes.
4. Community Engagement: Actively engaging with the community through meetings, forums, and outreach programs to stay connected and informed about local issues.
5. Advocacy and Support: Championing causes that align with the community’s values and needs, providing support to vulnerable populations, and working towards systemic change.
6. Mentorship and Role Modeling: Demonstrating leadership, integrity, and commitment to public service, inspiring others to get involved in civic activities and public service.
7. Collaboration: Working with other elected officials, community leaders, and organizations to address issues and implement effective solutions.
Princess Leia is a symbol of leadership, resilience, and determination. She is a strong advocate for her people and fights tirelessly for justice and freedom, she reflects just some of my qualities .
Given my background and passions, a fitting first bill to introduce could focus on enhancing support for children and families in vulnerable situations. A potential bill could be:
The Child and Family Stability Act:
• Objective: To prevent children from entering the foster care system unnecessarily and to provide timely support to abused children.
• Key Provisions:
1. Immediate Response for Abused Children: Establish a rapid response team to ensure that children showing signs of abuse receive immediate attention and intervention.
2. Family Support Services: Increase funding for family support services that offer counseling, financial assistance, and other resources to help families stay together when no abuse is present.
3. Transparency and Accountability: Mandate regular audits of child welfare agencies to ensure accountability and transparency in handling cases.
1. Public Trust: Transparency in financial matters fosters public trust. Citizens should have clear access to information about how their tax dollars are being spent and the financial health of their government.
2. Accountability: Government officials must be accountable for their actions and decisions. This includes being answerable to the public for any misuse of funds or unethical behavior.
3. Open Records: Financial documents, budgets, and expenditure reports should be easily accessible to the public. Open records help ensure that there is no misuse of public funds and that the spending is aligned with public priorities.
4. Regular Audits: Conducting regular, independent audits of government finances is crucial. These audits can help identify inefficiencies, fraud, or misuse of resources, ensuring that corrective actions can be taken promptly.
5. Clear Reporting: Financial reports should be presented in a clear and understandable manner. This includes using plain language, avoiding jargon, and providing summaries that make complex financial information accessible to all citizens.
6. Public Participation: Citizens should be encouraged to participate in the budgeting process. Public hearings, forums, and other forms of engagement allow for community input and ensure that spending priorities reflect the needs and desires of the community.
7. Ethical Standards: Government officials must adhere to high ethical standards, avoiding conflicts of interest and ensuring that their decisions are made in the best interest of the public.
