Carol Sandra Moore Wells is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She was appointed as a federal magistrate judge on June 3, 1996, and was re-appointed in 2004, 2012, and 2020.[1][2]
Education
Judge Wells received her J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1985.[1]
Career
Prior to receiving her law degree, Wells was a founder and teacher of the Lotus Academy from 1978 to 1984. She also served as a law clerk and office manager at Nichols, Nichols, Clark & New Kirk during this time. Wells became an associate attorney at the firm Pincus, Verlin, Hahn & Reich, P.C. in 1985. From 1987 to 1996, she worked as an Assistant City Solicitor, Deputy City Solicitor, and then Senior Attorney for the City of Philadelphia. She became a magistrate judge in 1996.[1]
