Carole Mineo is an at-large representative on the Newburgh Enlarged City School District school board in New York. First elected in 2014, Mineo won a new term in the at-large general election on May 16, 2017.

Carole Mineo is a resident of Orange County, New York. She earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education and Spanish, a master's degree in elementary education, and a C.A.S. degree in educational administration from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She spent 33 years as an educator in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District before she retired as the principal of Gidney Avenue Memorial School.[1]

Three of the nine seats on the Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board of Education in New York were up for at-large general election on May 16, 2017. Board members Carole Mineo and Darren Stridiron filed for re-election and were joined on the ballot by former member Mark Levinstein, former candidate Sylvia Santiago, and newcomer William Walker. Mineo and Stridiron won re-election, and Walker won election to the other seat.[2][3]

Mineo reported no contributions or expenditures to the New York State Board of Elections in the election.[4]

2014

Carole Mineo, Kenneth Copertino, William Swart, and Darren Stridiron defeated incumbents Dawn Fucheck, Mark Levinstein, and Thomas Woodhull and seven fellow challengers for the four at-large seats in the general election on May 20, 2014.

One of the seats up for election was vacated as a result of the death of board member Judith A. McAfee. Stridiron, the candidate who won election but received the fewest votes, received that seat, which carried an unexpired two-year term.[5]

Funding

Mineo did not file a campaign finance report with the New York State Board of Elections during the election.[6][7]

Endorsements

Mineo received an endorsement from the Newburgh Teachers Association.[8]
