Carole Pankau
Carole Pankau (born August 13, 1947) was a Republican member of the Illinois State Senate. She began representing the 23rd District in 2005 and served as Minority Whip. She was defeated in her bid for re-election in 2012.
Background
Carole earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting with honors from the University of Illinois.
Pankau served on the DuPage County Board for eight years and the Keeneyville School District 20 Board for eight years before being elected to the Illinois State House of Representatives in 1993. She was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 2004.[1]
She resides in Roselle, Illinois, with her husband, Anthony. They have four grown children.[2]

Pankau ran for election in the 2012 election for Illinois State Senate District 23. Pankau defeated Randy Ramey in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012, and was defeated by Tom Cullerton (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4][5]
