Carolene Mays (b. July 21, 1961) is a former member of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. She served in this position from 2010 to 2016.[1][2]

Prior to her appointment to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, Mays was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008. She also worked as the publisher and president of the Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper and the Indiana Minority Business Magazine. Mays was a finalist for an appointment by President Barack Obama (D) as the Midwest regional director of housing and urban development, but withdrew her name from consideration after being appointed to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission in 2010.[1]

Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (2010-2016)

Mays was appointed to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission in 2010 by Gov. Mitch Daniels (R) and reappointed to the commission by Gov. Mike Pence (R) in 2013. She served until April 7, 2016, when Gov. Pence appointed her as the executive director of White River State Park.[1][2]

Mays served as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008.
