Eau Claire Area School District school board, At-large

Carolyn Barstad was an at-large representative on the Eau Claire Area School District Board of Education in Wisconsin. Barstad was elected to the board on April 5, 2016, and resigned at the beginning of April 2017. She announced her resignation on March 6, 2017, at a meeting of the school board, saying that she did not have enough time for the board and that she wished to step down because of her age.[1]

Elections

Four of the seven seats on the Eau Claire Area School District school board were up for general election on April 5, 2016. Incumbents Rich Spindler and Chris Hambuch-Boyle filed for re-election, while fellow board members Chue Xiong and Wendy Sue Johnson opted not to seek a new term. Newcomers Aaron Harder, Jennifer Fager, and Carolyn Barstad all filed as challengers in the race. Fager, Spindler, Hambuch-Boyle, and Barstad won seats in the election.[2]

Spindler resigned from his position in May 2016 effective on June 21, 2016.[3] The district accepted candidate applications for this unexpired position until June 14, 2016. Candidates served a one-year term that expired in April 2017.[3]

Barstad reported no campaign funding in the election according to the Eau Claire Area School District.[4]
