Carolyn C. Whittington was a circuit court judge for the 21st Circuit Court in Missouri.[1] She has been a circuit judge since 2002.[2] Judge Whittington retired from the bench in 2018.

Whittington received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and her J.D. from St. Louis University.[2][3]

Judicial selection method

The judges of the Missouri Circuit Courts in Clay, Greene, Jackson, Platte, and St. Louis counties and the city of St. Louis are appointed by the governor with the help of a judicial selection commission.[8]

The chief judge of each court is elected by the circuit and associate judges from among the sitting circuit judges.[9]
