Carolyn H. Nichols is a judge on the Pennsylvania Superior Court. She was elected in 2017.
She was formerly a judge on the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was elected in 2011 to a term that would have expired in January 2022.
Education
Nichols received her J.D. and LL.M. degrees from Temple University Beasley School of Law. She also holds an M.B.A. from Eastern University.[1]

Prior to her election to the common pleas court in 2011, Nichols held a number of positions, including legislative assistant to former Philadelphia Councilwoman Augusta Clarke, assistant city solicitor, and deputy secretary of external affairs for the office of the mayor of Philadelphia.[1]

2011
Nichols won the Democratic Party primary on May 17. She received 3.6 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary.[4] She was elected in a race with eleven open seats in the general election on November 8. Nichols received 8.2 percent of the vote.[5]
