Education

Blackett received her undergraduate degree from Brown University in 1979 and her J.D. degree from the St. Louis University Law School in 1982.[1]

Career

Blackett began her career as a law clerk and then worked as a legal intern for the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri in 1981 and 1982. She then served briefly as an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in 1983 before joining the FedEx corporation to work as a senior attorney and regional manager of government affairs. Blackett then practiced law with the Waring Cox Law Firm from 1992 until she joined the Shelby County Criminal Court in 1994.[1]
