After 30+ years of leadership experience in human services, financial management, and county administration, I was appointed to the position of County Auditor in October 2021. It is humbling and rewarding to serve as County Auditor in the office where I began my career in public service.

In Fairfield County, I was the first woman to serve as Child Support Director and was honored as the State’s Director of the Year in 2005. As County Administrator, I supervised department heads of multiple government functions. Under my leadership, the county completed five construction projects, all on time and under budget, including a $34M construction project for a county jail and Sheriff’s offices. Over the span of my career, I have managed grants of more than $130 million. I was instrumental in the creation of the county’s workforce development center.

Fairfield County has been awarded more than 60 state and national awards for programs under my leadership. As County Auditor, I continue to strive for improvements in technology, customer service, and transparency. I want to continue the brand of excellence that has been the hallmark of my public service.

  • Experienced. In November of 1988, I began my career as a Deputy Auditor. I prepared the county’s first Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and became a Certified Government Financial Manager – a certification I continue to hold. During my tenure, I brought technology to the office and established a culture of customer service. Valuing customer service has been a hallmark of my public service, including my service as Chief Deputy Auditor of Finance, Child Support Director, Interim Job and Family Services Director, and as County Administrator.
  • Innovative. With 12 years of service in the County Auditor’s Office, 12 years in social services, and more than 8 years with the County Commission, I have the skills and experience to continue to improve the County Auditor’s Office. I thrive in situations where I can apply my knowledge and experience while also engaging in innovative processes. I believe I can put my degrees – a Master of Business Administration and a Doctorate in Organization and Management – to work to make operations and customer service even stronger than they are today.
  • Dedicated. I have dedicated my life to Fairfield County, not only with public service, but also with community service. I have served as President of the United Way, a board member of Destination Downtown Lancaster, and an active participant for multiple other boards and committees. I am dedicated to making Fairfield County the best it can be for all of its residents.
I believe in the constitutional principles of our Founding Fathers. Those principles are profound and permanent. I view public policy as the process of problem identification, setting a path for solutions, and implementing and evaluating the solutions, under the lens of constitutional principles. And for public policy to be most effective, it must be centered upon open government, transparency, and collaboration. Civic education and outreach are critical components of good government. As a leader, I have a willingness to listen and to consider multiple perspectives, with empathy and civility. I work hard to develop consensus on matters of policy and respect the processes of local government.
