I am a parent of 2 kids with Type 1 Diabetes and I have 20 years of experience in health care + worker wellbeing in Western Kentucky. I want to be your voice in Frankfort to advocate for opportunities that benefit families in Livingston and McCracken.
  • Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). This is my area of focus. The most effective way to influence behavior change is through policy. We can work to improve the social determinants of health in our area so more people are thriving and contributing.

  • One way to influence SDOH is by supporting and strengthening the good work county health coalitions and substance abuse alliances are doing. These folks are already working with experts in the community to gather data and develop evidence based interventions to improve our KIP data and rates of obesity and other preventable chronic diseases. https://www.kipsurvey.com/ https://education.ky.gov/curriculum/WSCC/data/Pages/State-Data.aspx
  • Physical Therapy is an important first line of defense against opioid misuse. Let’s keep workers safe and healthy. We can reduce costly surgeries, injuries, on the job accidents, and the need for dangerous pain pills by increasing access to physical therapy. https://www.choosept.com/

I was driving to work when 9/11 happened. It was the first time I’d ever heard Bob & Tom in the Morning not laughing. They announced live as the 2nd plane made impact. Our station manager gathered us in the studio, told us to get the minimum necessary work done and quickly get home to be with our families.
I worked at Kroger as a teen and was so proud of myself when I was promoted as a front end supervisor and key holder!
My early priorities include reducing barriers to access physical therapy to improve worker safety and mitigate opioid use.
