I 'm living the American Dream. I was born and raised in Utah. I am now raising my own family here. I have worked the ranch and run my businesses here. Its time we take care of the little people again
  • The People come first. It is beyond time that the people of this Country get their voice back! They should always be the first ones considered.
  • Less taxes, Less new laws, start enforcing the laws that we already have, and being accountable to those we represent.
  • Getting the budget under control is something that has to be done. It is my generation that is going to have to deal with it!
I personally am passionate about all things America, but especially the average American. What do they need, want and feel. How can we help them to succeed in their life? This is something that is not happening. It's the average person that makes this country go round, and they are getting walked over every single day. We also need to start protecting our farmers, Ranchers and Agriculture. We are losing 1000's of farms a year.... and we need to look to the future to be able to feed a growing country, safely and affordably. It is just time that we use some common sense.
There are 2 people in history that I really looked up to. George Washington and Ronald Regan. They both stuck out to me as men of character. Men that were well rounded and versed in many areas of life. The thing that I appreciated most about them is their love of this country. How much they cared for the individuals!
2 Books sum it up pretty well. Being George Washington by Glen Beck and Love your Enemies by Arthur C Brooks
Honesty, Integrity, Fortitude and a moral compass that points the right direction. Not to mention ears that hear.
I learned many things growing up working the ranch. The biggest one being " Do what is right, Not what is easy" This is something that I feel the world is really missing. I have been raised in a way that I can do tough things. That there is nothing we cannot overcome. I spend time with people. I have been blessed with a gift of empathy to be able to relate and feel what people are going through. In my line of work. If you are not honest, You don't get anywhere. It's time our Reps are Honest, Work Hard and do what they say they are going to even if its not the easy path.
LISTEN to the people and do what is in the best interest of them!
I want to leave a legacy, that people loved me, because I cared. That everyone that meets me, knows that I will do everything I can to make their life a little better. That they are important to me that their voice matters. I want people to remember me for that. That I was a normal person just like them. I never settled for less. That I looked at the big tasks not as insurmountable mountains, but as a series of problems that needed to be solved. That maybe I was born a humble sheep farmer, but could rise in this country to do great things and leave the world a better place.
I remember seeing Regan on TV as a small child, but the biggest thing that is clear in my mind was the 9/11 attacks. I was 12 years old.
My family owns a sheep ranch. I have done that ever since I could walk. I still do part time today, when not running my other businesses
Love your Enemies By Arthur C Brooks. It taught me a lot more about myself, and how I treat and deal with other people than I ever thought that I didn't know!
The one thing that I have learned is that everyone has a struggle even if we don't see it. In my adult life I have struggled with many things. One of which is building and sustaining a small business. It is not easy but there are so many people that do it and I really feel for them.
What I love about the House is that it can and should be made up of average citizens. Our friends and neighbors. Giving representation to those who deserve it most, THE PEOPLE. Our founders wanted it this way. It should always be a place where the average persons well being is considered first.
Absolutely not, I think that has led us into problems that we are seeing now. We have created a climate of people in government who are very disconnected with the people that they are called to represent. How can you do what is best for someone if you have no idea what they are going through.
Overcoming the divide that exists between the 2 parties and bringing the country back together to start working for the people again. So that we can start to work on overcoming the national debt. So we don't leave my generation with a country that belongs to other countries.
I would love to be on the Agricultural and Small Business commodities. Having spent most all of my life in both of those fields. I also think I could be a benefit to the Natural Resources committee as well because of my vast time spend in that area.
Yes, I think that it keeps our reps accountable to the people. It makes them realize that they must do a good job because people are always watching.
I have mixed feelings on them. I don't believe that the House of Reps should be a lifetime job, absolutely not. I also think that there are many good people there that we continually benefit from having there. It is something that really needs to be looked hard at!
Not in particular, each has some qualities that I like and some I don't. I want to be the person that does right by the people.
I listen to people who struggle to make ends meet. Only to be taxed by roughly 37%, and then have their health insurance cost outrageous amounts. Not to mention some not being able to afford their medications. We are doing a poor job helping the average American.
