Carty Chang
Carty Chang was the acting Chairperson of Land and Natural Resources in Hawaii. He was appointed on December 31, 2014, by Governor David Ige (D). Chang served as the acting chairperson until Suzanne Case was appointed and confirmed by the Hawaii State Senate in April 2015.[1][2]
Biography
Chang served as the chief engineer for the department's engineering division from 2009 to 2014.[1]

Political career
Hawaii Chairman of Land and Natural Resources (January 2015-April 2015)
Chang was the acting Natural Resources Chairman for the state of Hawaii. He was appointed to the statewide position by Gov. Ige after his election in 2014.[1] The chairperson heads the Hawaii Board of Land and Natural Resources, a seven-person state body responsible for conserving and managing Hawaii's natural resources and the exploitation thereof. The chairperson is the board's executive and directly manages the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, the agency responsible for implementing the board's policies.
Appointments
2015
In December 2015, Chang was appointed acting Chairman of the Hawaii Board of Land and Natural Resources by then-newly elected governor David Ige (D). Like all Hawaii state executives, the chairperson is appointed by the governor with the consent of the state Senate. Chang served in an interim capacity until a permanent appointee was selected.[1]
