Two of the seven seats on the Waco Independent School District school board were scheduled for general election on May 6, 2017. However, the election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Place 7 incumbent Cary DuPuy and District 3 incumbent Larry Perez were automatically re-elected.[1][2]

DuPuy defeated challenger Armando Arvizu in the May 10, 2014, election for the at-large seat.
