Cary Pigman
Cary Pigman (Republican Party) was a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 55. Pigman assumed office on November 20, 2012. Pigman left office on November 3, 2020.
Pigman (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 55. Pigman won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Biography
Cary Pigman was born on November 1, 1958, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Pigman earned a B.S. in chemistry from the Edgecliff College of Xavier University in Cincinnati in 1980. He then earned his M.D. at The Ohio State University in 1983. His completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Georgetown University and George Washington University in Washington, D.C.[1][2]
He began his medical career as a doctor in the U.S. Navy attached to infantry units of the 2nd Marine Division. He left active duty in 1989 and remained in the reserves until 2000. In 2009 he was asked to return to active reserve status in the U.S. Army. In 2010 he was commissioned as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and served active duty in a variety of places from 2011 to 2013, including Iraq and Kuwait.[2]
In addition to his military service in the emergency department, he has served as the medical director of Hardee County Fire Rescue. He has also served as a member of the American Medical Association, Florida College of Emergency Physicians, Florida Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association, Rotary Club of Highlands County, and The American Legion in Lake Placid.[2]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Incumbent Cary Pigman was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[7][8]

Pigman won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 55. Pigman defeated Randy Duane Johnson in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012, and defeated Crystal Drake (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[9]
