Campaign website
Miller's campaign website stated the following:
My Values and Approach
I consider myself an environmentally forward thinker. I believe in social justice, in protecting the most vulnerable among us, and in supporting our LGBTQ+ community members. At the same time, I believe deeply in fiscal responsibility. County government must do important work with limited resources, and stewardship of public funds is not optional — it is essential.
Lincoln County is one of the largest employers in our community. The services residents rely on every day are delivered by real people — professionals who deserve to be valued, supported, safe, and given every opportunity to thrive. Strong organizational management isn’t bureaucracy for its own sake; it’s how services actually reach people.
County commissioners serve in nonpartisan roles. That is by design. Counties do not operate like state or federal legislatures — there are no partisan caucuses or party-line votes required to keep government functioning. Instead, three commissioners take an oath of office and are collectively responsible for the health, legality, and effectiveness of the organization.
That said, nonpartisan does not mean value-neutral or emotionless. I am a registered non-affiliated voter, but I do not lack convictions. If I had to describe my outlook plainly, I would say I am a humanistic liberal and a fiscal conservative — grounded in empathy, fairness, and responsibility.
A note on DHS/ICE – ICE is a federal agency. Lincoln County is not an arm of federal immigration enforcement. We are not participating in local ICE operations. I have not been made aware of any engagements or proposals to the county from DHS. My ongoing commitment is that the county maximizes transparency when/where possible across our entire operation. That includes details about ICE should they be presented to county government.
