I am an experienced trial lawyer, community volunteer, and committed Democrat who is running for State Representative in the 2024 election cycle. It is because of this strong desire to help people that I became an award-winning lawyer, got involved in extensive community service, and now am seeking to help more people through public service. It was through my community service that I saw firsthand the issues that everyday Texans truly care about. That is what led me to get more involved in helping elect strong Democrats by block walking and holding fundraisers. Eventually I found my way to Austin with organizations like SickOfItTexas to fight for Medicaid expansion, lead a statewide women's caucus group to lobby for our rights, joined the fight for common sense gun legislation as an Everytown fellow, and stood shoulder to shoulder with public education advocates.

We need practical solutions to many challenges, from fully funding public schools, to stopping gun violence, to increasing access to healthcare, ensuring strong public safety, and addressing the Fentanyl crisis. I am also committed to finding ways for more people to have access to economic opportunity and protecting homeowners from rising costs.

I understand that Texas today needs leaders with a servant heart, new ideas, and fresh perspectives to tackle tough problems - Democrats need someone who has the experience, reputation, and resources needed to hit the ground running on day one.

  • I have the experience necessary to be a successful legislator - and I don't require any training once I'm in office. I have already done work previously at the Capitol to move legislation.
  • From my previous experiences, I have the relatonships necessary with other members of the Texas Legislature and associated stakeholders - in Austin, locally, and beyond to provide resources and opportunities to HD115 and work on meaningful legislation..
  • My community involvement over the years - in a varity of backgrounds and areas - enables me to reach every part of HD115 and know what matters to us all.
Public safety, public education, and reproductive rights. We must restore the rights that the Texas Legislature and the Supreme Court have taken away from Texas women. I am committed to restoring Roe. I am a proud product of public education - and as such, I am vehemently opposed to the privatization of public schools - instead, we should work to increase the basic allotment and funding for schools and provide pay raises to teachers/staff as well as take care of our hardworking retired teachers/staff. Public safety is a top priority for me and the residents of House District 115. We need to tackle the fentanyl crisis by legalizing test strips - and pass common sense gun legislation to stop the violence.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Texas

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
