Cassi Schabell is a wife, mother, small business owner, and public relations professional, running for Lakeside Park City Council in 2024. Raised Catholic and a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Church in Ft. Mitchell, Cassi is passionate about advocating for working families and instilling civic responsibility in her children. As she’s knocked on doors with her kids, she’s heard from residents who appreciate seeing young people involved in local government.

Cassi believes that renewing a sense of responsibility in government starts at home and within the community. In addition to running her business and managing her children’s sports and music activities, she is dedicated to improving communication between residents and the council, advocating for transparency and responsible spending.

Cassi’s campaign is about fostering stronger community connections, teaching her children—and others—the importance of civic engagement, and ensuring Lakeside Park remains a great place to live for future generations.
  • Communication: Keeping citizens informed. Effective leadership begins with clear communication. By keeping residents informed and engaged in city business, we can address many challenges. As a communications professional, I’ll help the council provide transparent updates on key decisions, giving residents convenient options to share their thoughts.
  • Ethics: Fostering trust and integrity. I am committed to upholding the highest ethical standards for our city. Let’s follow the lead of neighboring Northern Kentucky cities that have updated their code of ethics and trained their officials, ensuring our leaders are equipped to serve effectively.
  • Taxpayer Priorities: Focused fiscal responsibility. With inflation impacting us all, I believe the recent city pay raises should be paired with cuts to non-essential projects. Let’s prioritize maintaining roads, existing sidewalks, & public safety, while focusing on resident-driven initiatives — not duplicating county services or initiating unrequested projects.
I am passionate about protecting the principles in our founding documents, especially the Declaration of Independence and the First Amendment. I believe government should be accountable to the people, and I’m concerned about the rise of unelected bureaucracy and government overreach. I also advocate for fiscal responsibility, ensuring tax dollars are spent wisely on essential services that benefit residents. Additionally, I believe in empowering regular citizens to get involved in local government, fostering civic engagement to ensure decisions reflect the will of the community. Responsible, transparent governance is my priority.
I look up to my grandmother, whose strength and love for her family have always inspired me. She lived a simple, fulfilling life, raising her children, including a child with disabilities, with incredible resilience and compassion. Despite the challenges she faced, she remained a pillar of wisdom, always offering guidance and support to her family.

What I admire most about her was her ability to find joy in her role as a mother, wife, and grandmother. She set an example of humility and selflessness, always putting her family first. Her encouragement, especially to her granddaughters, to pursue our goals has had a lasting impact on my life. Her dedication to her family and her quiet strength are values I aspire to embody in both my personal life and public service.
The most important characteristics for an elected official are humility, respect, and a strong sense of service. Humility is crucial, as too often we see elected officials lose sight of the fact that their role is to serve, not to be served. A servant's heart means always being available to help anyone in the community, regardless of personal beliefs or disagreements.

Respect is equally important. Elected officials must never disrespect those they represent, even when faced with criticism or opposing views. The role requires maintaining dignity and treating every individual with courtesy, even in challenging situations.

It is also essential for elected officials to understand that when citizens approach them with questions or concerns, it is not personal. The job is to listen, address the issue, and help find solutions, not to become offended or dismissive. An effective leader must remain objective and focused on solving problems.

Additionally, an elected official must possess thick skin and a strong backbone. Politics can involve negativity and challenges behind the scenes, and it's critical to uphold the integrity of the office while navigating these pressures. Above all, I believe an elected official should have a good heart, a love for the Lord, and respect for family values, guiding their decisions with integrity and compassion.
