Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Cassie Franklin made history as the first woman elected mayor of Everett in 2018. Since then, she has led the city with vision, accountability, and a strong commitment to community. She is a driven leader, strategic, and a cross-sector collaborator. She remains focused on building a safer, more vibrant Everett for all.

As mayor, Cassie has prioritized public safety, championed economic growth, and helped Everett gain regional and national recognition. Prior to elected office, Cassie served as CEO of Cocoon House, where she led the organization to national prominence for its work preventing and addressing youth homelessness. She was elected to the Everett City Council in 2015 and served as council vice president in 2017. Cassie holds a bachelor’s degree from Lewis & Clark College and completed graduate-level studies in family systems therapy through a master’s program at the University of Munich in Germany, further strengthening her grounding in mental and behavioral health systems.

Cassie is also a proud mom and long-time Everett resident. She brings both professional expertise and a personal investment in Everett’s future to every decision, working each day to ensure the city is a place where families, businesses, and communities can thrive.

• Public Safety: Cassie will continue to lead efforts that make Everett a safer, healthier place for all. Under her leadership, the City has adopted innovative tools and strategies to support first responders, expand behavioral health programs, and ensure greater accountability. Her focus is on creating a community where all residents feel secure and supported.
• Growth & Vitality: Cassie is proud of the work she and her team have done to position Everett as one of the most “open for business” cities in the state. She's championed strategic investments in our downtown, waterfront, and cultural assets to spotlight Everett as a vibrant hub for sports, the arts, and innovation, while creating good jobs and opportunities along the way.
• Fiscal Responsibility: From day one, Cassie made it a priority to strengthen Everett’s financial footing through smart, responsible budgeting. Her administration will continue to pursue long-term solutions that promote economic growth, protect public services, and ensure we’re building a sustainable future for everyone who calls Everett home.

I bring proven experience, collaborative leadership, and a results-focused approach. I’ve led Everett through crisis, balanced budgets, improved public safety, and expanded housing and services. I’m dedicated to thoughtful, steady leadership that delivers real solutions for everyone who calls Everett home.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

The core responsibilities of the Mayor are to ensure public safety, manage the city’s budget responsibly, and deliver essential services effectively. It’s about providing strong, collaborative leadership that solves problems, supports local businesses and workers, and improves quality of life for all residents. Most importantly, it means listening to the community and making thoughtful, accountable decisions that move Everett forward.
