Layout

The front page layout is controlled by the Front Page App and uses the common 12-column grid concept. Each horizontal row consists of 12 columns, and each component can be defined in width by 1 up to 12 columns. If two components in the same row add up to greater than 12, then the component will be bumped to the next row. In the App, items consist of images and text, while a tag/value defines a template. Please reach out to the tech team for specifics on updating the layout.

Frontpage Video Ad

The video ad code lives in this template, since its desired location was under the Sample Ballot Promo: https://ballotpedia.org/Template:FrontPageTwoColumnLinks_2.

To remove the video ad, either delete the code in the template or use Jquery to hide the Div in which the video ad lives. Example: "$('#video-ad-test').hide();"

The title and link of this button is controlled in the front page app, for the row called "row-call-to-action"

This template is used to change the links for the Trending Articles, the template is updated by providing links and titles.

WeeklyVideoLink

This template is used to change the Video of the Week Youtube Link. The Youtube ID must be used, for example, the Youtube ID is everything after the "equals" symbol

This template is to set the Featured Newsletter Banner, Date and Link. Use the three letter abbreviation for the Month and use digits for the day (example: 21) At the bottom of this template is a list of links for each of the 15 Newsletter banner images.

This template is used to display the Poll Scroll. The text, poll numbers, etc are all editable via the template.

FrontPageTwoColumnLinks_2

Used to display the two column links in the grey box and the Corona virus coverage suite text and orange button. The links are editable via the template.
