Catherine C. Hammond is a circuit court judge for the 14th Judicial Circuit in Virginia.[1] She was appointed to the court by former Governor Jim Gilmore in May 1999.[2][3]

Education

Hammond received her undergraduate degree from Denison University and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1984.[2][4]

Career

Before she became a judge, Hammond served as a deputy attorney general for former Governor Jim Gilmore from 1994 to 1999. She has also previously practiced law as a civil litigator for the law firm of McGuire Woods LLC from 1985 to 1992.[2] Hammond started her career as a law clerk for the Honorable Charles Brieant of the Southern District of New York.[5]
