Biography
Catherine Wiersch graduated from Chaparral High School. Wiersch earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2006 and a law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2018. Wiersch's career experience includes working as a commissioner.[1]

As an attorney, I have worked extensively in criminal law and specialty courts. I have seen firsthand how the courtroom can be a place of both accountability and opportunity. I understand the importance of due process, fairness, and judicial temperament. I also understand that behind every case number is a human being—someone’s parent, child, neighbor, or coworker.
My professional experience has allowed me to navigate complex legal issues, manage high-volume dockets, and work collaboratively with prosecutors, defense attorneys, law enforcement, and treatment providers. I have served in spaces where decisions must be made carefully, thoughtfully, and without ego. That responsibility has shaped how I approach leadership—with steadiness, preparation, and respect for the rule of law.
Beyond the courtroom, I am rooted in this community. I believe public service extends beyond one’s job title. It includes showing up, listening, mentoring, and contributing in ways that strengthen the fabric of our city.- I am not running for title or position. I am running out of a lifelong commitment to public service. My career as a lawyer, my work in the community, and my approach to leadership are grounded in showing up, preparing well, and serving people with integrity.
