Catherine Woods
Catherine Woods is a judge for Division 17 of the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. She assumed office in 2011. Her current term ends on January 4, 2027.
Woods ran for re-election for the Division 17 judge of the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. She won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
Woods was appointed in September 2011 by Governor Jan Brewer.[1][2]
Biography
Education
Woods received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1984 and her J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1987.[1]
Career
Woods has spent most of her legal career in private practice, with the firms of: Rusing & Lopez, Fennemore Craig, MacBan Law Offices, and Snell & Wilmer. She also spent two years with the Arizona Attorney General's Office, from 1993 to 1995.[1]

Evaluation
The Judicial Performance Review Commission provides Arizona voters with an evaluation of each judge up for retention. The commission votes on whether a candidate meets or does not meet the JPR standards. Each judge is assessed on their legal ability, integrity, communication skills, judicial temperament and administrative performance.[3]
The commission voted that Woods did not meet the JPR standards. The vote was 7-22 in favor of retention.[2]
