I’m a journalist, publisher, mom, military spouse, and advocate. Early in my career, I learned the power of listening — to hear people’s stories, to tell the ones that matter, and to stand up — for myself, my family, and what’s right. I didn’t inherit wealth, but I did inherit a love of life, a deep curiosity about people, and a commitment to strengthening my community and improving lives for everyone.
  • Quality of life is what matters most. We need real housing solutions so the people who work here can afford to live here — affordable, stable homes near job centers and transit, and a clear path to homeownership. Everyone deserves fair wages, career pathways that don’t bury them in debt, and vocational training that leads to good jobs. And by supporting small businesses, we can keep our local economy strong and vibrant.
  • Access to affordable, quality healthcare isn’t just a right—it’s essential to building healthy communities and a strong economy. Every patient deserves to make healthcare decisions with their doctor, confident that their privacy, dignity, and autonomy will be respected. We must protect the rights of women to make their own healthcare choices, including access to contraception, cancer screenings, maternity care, and abortion services. And we must take on the rising costs that put care out of reach—by managing prescription drug prices and expanding access to mental health services for all who need them.
  • Strong Education for Our Community and Our Future. Every child—no matter their zip code—deserves a fully funded, high-quality public education. Great schools depend on great teachers, and that means paying educators what they’re worth so they can build their lives and careers in our community. Our children deserve safe, supportive learning environments where they are encouraged to think critically, grow confidently, and prepare for bright futures.
I’m dedicated to delivering affordable housing, strong public schools, honest government, and real accountability — not slogans, not lip service, but action that changes lives.

We need smart, pragmatic policies that promote conservation, prevent reckless development, and protect our homes and businesses. Together, we can preserve our beautiful coastline, parks, and wetlands — vital to our wildlife, health, and local economy.

I believe in justice, public service, and the power of everyday people — people who work hard, care deeply about their communities, and deserve a real voice in the decisions that shape their lives.
Commitment to working for the interests of their constituents and identifying solutions that are both pragmatic and benefit to the community
I believe in possibility — I want to work to make Virginia Beach an even better place to live.

I am a wife, mother, Realtor, and award-winning journalist with a background in print journalism, specifically military and local news coverage including reporting on government bodies – like city councils. I have been married for 19 years to a U.S. Navy veteran and son of a Navy Commander who grew up in Virginia Beach and moved our family here as soon as the opportunity presented itself – he is our city’s biggest fan. Our son, who will be entering his junior year at Cox High School, is a shining example of the quality of Virginia Beach Public Schools and his teachers at W.T. Cooke, Virginia Beach Middle, First Colonial High, and now Cox. We have two grown daughters, a grandson, and a granddaughter who have all called Virginia Beach home.
  • Stop reckless development that threatens our delicate environment and work to hold those developers who have created flooding issues responsible for fixing it.
  • Secure raises for city workers, teachers, librarians, and those who make this city run yet can't afford to live here.
  • Work to create thoughtful and comprehensive solutions to reduce gun violence.
