A Cave Creek School District Levy Override measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the Cave creek school district area which is in Maricopa County.
This measure was defeated
- YES 6,295 (44.18%)

This measure sought to allow the school district to exceed the levy collection limit by 15 percent, about a $12 increase on average to local property taxes. The extra money collected from this override would have gone towards maintenance and operational costs, notably maintaining school programs and paying current teacher salaries. School officials sought this override as they do not have enough money in the current budget to maintain current programs.[2] Opponents to the measure noted that what the school listed as its needs did not add up to the money that they were seeking. Opponents also noted that the desired needs were not necessary for the school to function and that the current levy amount is suitable for the school's needs. The school board countered that without the additional money they ill have to cut at least 70 teaching positions throughout the district.[3]
