Caylus Goodson is a lifelong Republican born in Columbia, South Carolina, and raised in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. A first-generation graduate, Caylus graduated from Broome High School in 2017. After that, he graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2020, earning his BA in Political Science. In 2023, he earned his MS in Political Science and a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy. He served as an Intern, Staff Assistant, and Legislative Correspondent in the United States House of Representatives working for two of the most Conservative Legislators. He also served in many roles while at Coastal Carolina University including in the Student Government Association, Student Alumni Association, as President of the College Republicans, and Vice President of Finance in his fraternity.
  • Lower property taxes will ensure that the citizens of Spartanburg County can keep more of their hard earned money.
  • Continue fixing our roads to improve the quality of life in Spartanburg County. Work with key leaders to create a tiered system that will determine which roads are prioritized based on the worst status.
  • Balance the budget.
Anyone elected to this office must remember that they work for the citizens and taxpayers of Spartanburg County. This person must listen to the voters and balance the budget, fix our roads, and work with stakeholders to improve trust within Spartanburg County Government and the Sheriff’s office.
The public should be able to see what and where their tax money is being spent on. Government should work for the people, and not the other way around.
