Romero-Tkach ran in the 2012 election for New Mexico State Senate District 14. She ran against Michael Padilla, James G. Taylor and State representative Eleanor Chavez in the Democratic primary on June 5, 2012. Incumbent Eric Griego (D) did not run for re-election. Padilla won the primary.[1][2]
