Gamrath also ran for re-election for the 8th Subcircuit judge of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. Gamrath unofficially withdrew from the race but appeared on the general election ballot on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Celia Gamrath received her B.S. degree (Business) from Indiana University in 1991 and her J.D. degree from The John Marshall Law School in 1994.[1] Gamrath began her career as a law clerk for Illinois Appellate Justice Thomas Rakowski. She worked as a partner of Schiller DuCanto & Fleck prior to her judicial appointment in 2010. She has also taught at The John Marshall Law School.[1][2]

Gamrath was elected without opposition to a full term on November 6, 2012 and will fill the vacancy created by Thomas R. Chiola. She won the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 49.16 percent of the vote.[4][5][6]
