The Center for Rural Pennsylvania is a joint legislative service agency of the Pennsylvania General Assembly that no longer fell within Ballotpedia's coverage scope as of March 9, 2021.
Per the Senate and House Rules, joint committees of the Pennsylvania General Assembly are assigned by the president pro tempore and by the speaker of the House.[1][2]

Function
“ | The Center for Rural Pennsylvania is a bipartisan, bicameral legislative agency that serves as a resource for rural policy within the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The Center promotes and sustains the vitality of Pennsylvania's rural and small communities by: (1) sponsoring research projects to identify policy options for legislative and executive branch consideration and action; (2) collecting data on trends and conditions to understand the diversity of rural Pennsylvania; (3) publishing information and research results to inform and educate audiences about the diverse people and communities of rural Pennsylvania; and (4) participating in local, state and national forums on rural issues to present and learn from best practices.[3][4] | ” |
