Cesar Chavez (Arizona legislator)
Cesar Chavez (Democratic Party) was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 29. He assumed office on January 9, 2017. He left office on January 9, 2023.
Chavez (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Arizona State Senate to represent District 24. He lost in the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022.
Biography
Assemblymember Chavez was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. When Chavez was three years old, his family immigrated to the United States. In 1996 his family arrived in Phoenix, Arizona, and purchased their first home in the Maryvale community.[1]
In November 2016, Chavez was elected to represent Arizona's 29th District which is composed of Maryvale, South Glendale, and Litchfield Park. After election, Chavez became a sitting member on the Commerce Committee and the Local and International Affairs Committee.[2]
