Chabot Las Positas Community College District parcel tax, Measure I (November 2012)
A Chabot Las Positas Community College District parcel tax, Measure I ballot question was on the November 6, 2012, ballot for voters in the Chabot Las Positas Community College District in Contra Costa County and Alameda County, where it was defeated.[1]
Measure I would have levied a parcel tax of $28 each year on owners of single-family homes. This tax would have lasted for 6 years and applied to the approximately 200,000 parcels in the district. This would have resulted in new annual revenues to the district of about $5.6 million each year, or about $33.6 million over the 6-year life of Measure I.
Although many local parcel tax measures contain an exemption for senior citizens and those on disability SSI, that was not the case with Measure I.[1]
A two-thirds (66.67%) vote was needed for approval.
