The primary election was canceled. Incumbent Chad Iverson and Holly Neibaur advanced from the primary for Canyons School District, District 7.

Three of the seven seats on the Canyons School District school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. District 1 incumbent Robert Green did not run for re-election leaving challenger Mont Millerberg to run unopposed for the open seat. Shirley Warren originally filed to run against Millerberg but withdrew from the race before the general election. District 3 incumbent Nancy Tingey ran unopposed and won re-election to her seat. District 7 incumbent Chad Iverson defeated challenger Tracy Bennett to win re-election to his seat.[1]

Funding
