Jackson was a 2016 Republican candidate for District 111 of the Texas House of Representatives. He was defeated in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Two of the seven seats on the Duncanville Independent School District board of trustees were up for general election on May 6, 2017. In the race for the Place 4 seat, incumbent Renee McNeely ran unopposed and won another term. Place 5 incumbent Elijah Granger withdrew from the race. Candidates Pamela Grayson, Chad O. Jackson, and Cassandra Phillips ran for his open seat, and Phillips won the election.[1][2]
