Rossiter issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:

I chose to run for office because there is a lot of talk and not a lot of action in government. There is a sense of apathy among voters, especially young voters. Everyone feels like there is no chance at substantial change and have lost much of the belief in the power of voting.

My political philosophy, which is shared among many, is that we need as lean a government as possible. Fiscally conservative, socially tolerant. The government need not be involved in our personal lives except to guarantee individual freedoms. Additionally, the government needs to focus on internal reform in the vein of spending and strive to be as lean and efficient as possible.

I hope to be a voice for my district. The current opponent does not represent the majority of the district, but rather a small contingent of wealthy and well connected folks who are far removed from the common resident of the 75th district. [6]
