At just twenty-one years old, I answered God’s call to serve as a Christian pastor. I served in three different states for thirteen years before settling in Cary, North Carolina where my wife Leah and I pioneered a church that I led as Founding Senior Pastor for seven years.

Following the passing of my father, I answered a new call: to serve as the CEO of my family's small business. While creating jobs for hardworking Americans and leading the family business, I advanced my commitment to my faith through Slotta Global Mission, an organization dedicated to meeting the practical needs of people and teaching the Gospel around the world.

Guided by my faith, I've had a remarkable journey and professional career, earning a Master of Science in Management, a Master of Business Administration, and a Doctorate of Christian Ministry. My sense of duty to others, our great Country, and the Lord Jesus have never wavered.

A father of three, I've been pressed by a sense of urgency to get off the sidelines and restore faith in America. Keeping my trust in God, I will serve the people of North Carolina as a tireless advocate and powerful defender of our conservative way of Life.
  • I will defend the sanctity of life from the moment of conception to natural death. My daughter was born at just 24 weeks gestational age with many complications and long odds to live. But God healed her and every day I strive to honor that miracle. Now, she serves as a proud member of her high school's ROTC program and hopes to serve in our nation's military. In Congress, I will protect the voiceless and defend America from radical forces.
  • The radical progressive left has its foot to the floorboard driving our great country off the rails. We must Realign America with the Judeo-Christian values, constitutional conservative principles, and America-first policies that have made America great by sending a Christian conservative outsider to Washington, DC.
  • The DC swamp is full of politicians who are more concerned with serving themselves than working for the American people who hired them. They never stop patting themselves on the back or grandstanding on Twitter when they should be solving the problems confronting our nation. The news plays endless soundbites and subtweets that serve no other purpose but to distract us from what’s most important. When we step away from our phones, turn off the news, and push back from social media, let’s remember that we are the United State of America, the greatest nation in history.
I feel passionate about many areas of public policy. Three areas stand out: Defending the Sanctity of Life, Strengthening National Security, and Supporting Parents' Rights.

As I mentioned, my daughter was born premature. Having watched the incredible journey, going all the way back to her moment of birth, I could not take more joy in the life that I have watched her live. My faith and my family experience will compel me in Congress to advance pro-life policies. I've seen firsthand how God's touch can take someone from the darkest of circumstances to the most joyous of moments, and everyone deserves that right.

National Security is the most fundamental function of the federal government. For me, this issue starts by building the wall on our southern border. Under President Trump, we had the lowest boarding crossing rate in history because our nation invested in technologies and the hardworking men and women of Border Patrol. Joe Biden came in and reversed everything we had achieved. Now, we have an unmitigated disaster that has resulted in record crossings and the flow of fentanyl into our nation. We cannot address our national security until we secure our border.

Every day, we hear of another example of parents' rights being violated. Whether it's in the classroom or the doctor's office, bureaucrats in DC are seeking to tell us they know how to raise our children. I beg to differ. In my daughter's school district, they teach a book that includes sexually explicit
I seek most to model my character, thoughts, words, and actions after my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He laid down his life for me and I choose willingly to follow Him.
Published in 1980 by Nobel Laureate Milton Friedman and his wife Rose, I recommend reading Free to Choose, which uses practical examples to show how the free market creates prosperity.
I believe anyone who is seeking to serve in elected office does so with the principle of selfless service. Too many politicians use their office as a stepping stone for their next job or for financial gain. Our founding fathers never intended this to be a lifelong career and we need to elect leaders who agree with them. I also believe we need someone who is a pragmatic problem solver who refuses to compromise their principles.
I'm a Christian Conservative Outsider. I believe that all our life's blessings come from the Lord, that we need to stop the government from further expanding into our lives, and the only way to make Washington work for us in by electing people who aren't going to play the DC insider game.
The core responsibilities for this office include advancing conservative legislation, stopping the radical left from driving our country off the tracks, and Realigning America with the Judeo-Christian Values and Constitutional Conservative Principles that have made our nation the greatest in history.
I desire to point people to Jesus with my life, inspire them to become all God designed them to be, and change the world for the better in lasting ways.
When I was five years old, President Reagan was inaugurated ushering in a new era of American exceptionalism, prosperity, and strength.
When I was in middle school, I started a lawn-mowing business in my neighborhood that I ran for several years.
The Bible is my favorite book of all time because it is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
You Know My Name by Tasha Cobbs Leonard
My middle daughter was born four months early, at one pound and six ounces. We walked with her through one-hundred fifteen days in the NICU, many complications, and long odds to live. But, God toucher her life and every day I strive to honor that miracle.
I believe that the best credential for a representative is to be an outsider. People who go to Washington to play political games, or already have a background of doing so, have their own interests at heart, not those of the district.
I support term limits and have signed the term limits pledge. I believe that serving in office is about representing your community, not about personal gain.
What did the football coach say to the vending machine? I want my quarter back.
Despite being treated like one, the Federal government is not a piggy bank. We. need to get serious about our spending and get a grip on the exploding deficit because we are leaving our children and grandchildren with the bill. I believe we need a balanced budget amendment to ensure fiscal responsibility from congress.

Campaign website

Slotta's campaign website stated the following:

PLATFORM

Stand for Life

  • My teenage daughter was born at 24 weeks. She weighed one pound, six ounces. I believe all life is sacred and worthy of legal protection because I’ve seen what God can do when we fight for every child, including the unborn.
  • Abortion-on-demand organizations like Planned Parenthood should not receive federal funding. The federal dollars that currently go to Planned Parenthood should be redirected to women’s health clinics.
  • Moving around dollars in the budget is the easy thing to do, but it’s not enough. There’s another side to this equation: our complex, outdated adoption process. As a pastor, I counseled families in search of an adopted child. I also counseled some who didn’t know how they could possibly raise a child all alone, and who were in search of a loving home.
  • Only the most sophisticated families can navigate the bureaucracy and expend the resources necessary to adopt a child, and that must change. If we’re serious about protecting life, then we must make the adoption process easier.

Stop Big-Government Socialism

  • Government breaks just about everything it touches. It’s because “government” is really a group of detached bureaucrats empowered to make decisions they don’t understand for people they’ve never met.
  • It seems crazy, but somehow an entire political party believes the way to fix what government broke is to have more government. To them, politics is their religion and government is their savior.
  • We need to cut federal agencies, not expand them. We need to loosen the Washington bureaucracy’s grip on our economy, not tighten it. President Trump’s America First agenda unleashed our economy because it got big government out of the way.
  • I’ll support the America First agenda in Congress next year and I’ll work directly with President Trump to enact it once he’s reelected in 2024.
  • Take energy policy as an example. The United States has enough natural resources to power itself for decades. But the Green New Deal crowd wants to block Americans from buying American power from American companies, making us rely instead on foreign oil from places like Russia and Saudi Arabia.
  • Most people don’t know this, but North Carolina relies on a single pipeline for nearly all its natural gas. If there’s a disruption in that pipeline, there would be immediate blackouts. This is a critical energy supply vulnerability for the entire state. Yet Gov. Roy Cooper and Washington Democrats keep blocking new natural gas pipelines.
  • In Congress, I’ll work to return us to President Trump’s energy policies.

Secure our Streets, Borders, and Elections

  • It seems like the only thing going down in price these days is fentanyl, which is pouring across our open southern border.
  • To stop illegal immigration, we need to build the wall and say no to amnesty. We need to follow President Trump’s America First plan of establishing a merit-based immigration system.
  • Border agents and police officers are doing the best they can to enforce our laws and get fentanyl off the streets. As a pastor, I counseled families struggling with addiction. But law enforcement is hamstrung by constant attacks from the left, even as police officers are under attack in record numbers.
  • In Congress, I’ll support border patrol and police officers. They protect my family and yours.
  • We must have election integrity. We must ensure that the American people, regardless of party, have confidence in the fairness and security of the election process – our republic depends on it.
  • We must enact policies that ensure honesty, accuracy, and transparency in all elections. Every citizen deserves the freedom to support, oppose, criticize, or promote candidates and causes in whom and in which they believe.

Support Parents’ Rights in Education

  • I stand with Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson in believing parents, not bureaucrats, have the right to lead their children’s education. But in North Carolina and throughout the country, a rogue education establishment sees children as theirs to indoctrinate.
  • I’m a father to three teenagers in Wake County Public Schools, and I see it firsthand. Earlier this year, my daughter sent me a text message: “Dad, just one out of 20 kids in my class stood up for the Pledge of Allegiance. I was the only one.”
  • This madness must end. They’re teaching kids to see themselves and everything in the world always through the lens of race. They’re separating students by skin color and talking to elementary schoolers about gender and sexuality. They’re offering to minors books with sexually explicit material and daring parents to question them.
  • Of course, schools – especially high schools – should teach students about anatomy in an age-appropriate manner. Our curriculum must tell students about our country’s past – the good and the bad, including the horrors of slavery and Jim Crow.
  • But education bureaucrats are warping that history and instilling in children a new and radical ideology. I’ve been standing up at my local school board meetings, and I intend to continue the fight in Congress. That means expanding school choice, including charter schools and Opportunity Scholarships, so all parents can choose the education option that best meets their children’s needs.

Safeguard our Speech

  • One of the many principles that make our country great is our commitment to a free and open exchange of ideas.
  • But that principle is under attack like never before. Big tech titans are censoring conservative voices. They even banned the New York Post, the fourth-largest newspaper in the entire country, from their platforms for reporting the truth about Hunter Biden.
  • People from all walks of life – journalists, professors, business leaders, and students – are afraid to speak their minds for fear of censorship and retaliation.
  • This must end. In Congress, I’ll fight big tech censorship and cancel culture. Corporate titans shouldn’t have control over the hearts and minds of the American people.

ISSUES

Economy

Wealth creation is the product of human enterprise. The free enterprise system is the most effective and just economic system in the world because it creates opportunity, rewards self-reliance and hard work, and unleashes productivity. Free enterprise is an engine of charity that has made America the most philanthropic nation on earth. Government should tax only to raise money for its constitutional functions. I support capitalism as the main economic system in the United States and will continue to ensure that this country does not become a marxist, socialist or communist nation.

Taxes/Business

Small businesses, startups, and family-owned farms keep North Carolina’s economy moving by creating jobs and driving economic growth. I support policies that encourage honest, productive work by eliminating burdensome regulations and excessive taxation. Economic freedom is essential to human liberty and dignity because it preserves our God-given right to own private property. Government must provide an environment for individual initiative and free enterprise because they create opportunity, reward self-reliance, and unleash productivity.

Government

In a free society, power rests in the hands of the people. I believe in a limited government which serves the people, rather than one that burdens them. Government at all levels should not spend money it does not have and avoid passing on debts to future generations. The US Constitution is the supreme law of this land. As such, it outlines the foundational principles of our great nation. These principles include a legislature which creates laws, an executive who enforces laws, and a judiciary which interprets laws. I support the separation of powers, checks and balances, and all efforts to maintain independent branches of government, based on a strict interpretation of the Constitution’s original intent.

Elections

We must have election integrity. We must ensure that the American people, regardless of party, have confidence in the fairness and security of the election process – our republic depends on it. We must enact policies that ensure honesty, accuracy, and transparency in all elections. North Carolinians expect their lawmakers to ensure that every eligible citizen is able to vote and also make sure that their vote is not stolen or diluted through errors, mistakes, or outright fraud. Every citizen deserves the freedom to support, oppose, criticize, or promote the candidates and causes they believe in. And most importantly, the American people must have the utmost confidence that every voice matters, and every vote counts—or democracy cannot survive.

Education

Every child should receive an excellent education. North Carolina students should graduate with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today’s global economy. The people of North Carolina support high educational standards aimed at improving student achievement. I reject the high cost of low expectations. A vibrant and dynamic public education system is vital to the health of North Carolina’s communities and essential for attracting and retaining quality employers locally. I also believe that parents have the right and responsibility to direct their children’s education, while students have the obligation to learn. Encouraging choice and competition in education drives all schools towards quality outcomes. Parents, not zip codes, should choose where children attend school. Parents, not government, should be in charge of their children’s education.

Military/Law Enforcement

One of the main duties of government is to maintain law and order, while securing for its citizens the freedom to pursue the blessings of liberty and enjoy the fruits of their labor. I honor and support men and women in uniform who protect us at home and abroad. I honor and support state and local law enforcement as well as our first responders for their public service to our citizens. We are free because of those who have answered the call to serve. America has a sacred trust with law enforcement and our veterans — I am committed to ensuring care and dignity for them and their families.

America

America is an exceptional and noble country that should remain the world’s foremost economic and military superpower by pursuing America-first policies and peace through military strength. We must learn from our past and from our mistakes, not delete, cancel, or erase them. All Americans should heed President John F. Kennedy’s historic words that inspired children and adults to see the importance of civic action and service: “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” Together, we must all contribute to the public good and strive for a more perfect Union[3]
