Community Experience: Presently hold the following positions: Board, Monterey Bay Fisheries Trust Co-Chair, Charitable Giving, Bank of America Foundation

Professional Experience: Presently hold this position: Director, Bank of America Merrill Lynch

I live with my family that includes three young children who all attend Pacific Grove schools.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• Improve the quality of life for all of Pacific Grove's citizens.
• Ensure that Pacific Grove complies with housing initiatives and builds more housing units
• Make Pacific Grove business friendly; look for economic and recreational opportunities towards this effort.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Transportation, Energy, Housing, Environment, Economic issues.

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the state government and legal system?

Local is where the rubber hits the road. I am honored to be part of the chain of events that help cities shape up to what they are.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

I found Lawrence of Arabia to be quite a spectacle contrasting the harsh elements and the determination of one man's conquest to unify them.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Being collaborative and finding common ground.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Ethical, hard working and genuine.

What is your favorite book? Why?

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo.

Are there any little-known powers or responsibilities held by this office that you believe more people should be aware of?

There is a tremendous amount of work involved that is unknown behind the scenes both with staff and with Council.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for holders of this office to have previous experience in government or politics?

While it is not a must, having some exposure to either government or politics will help tremendously.

What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?

Visionary, Thick Skinned, Collaborative, Financial acumen, Decision and Policy Making.

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the local government?

Pacific Grove is one of many coastal cities in CA that contributes to the overall health of the state in terms of economic tourism and destination spots to visit.

What are your views on financial transparency and government accountability?

We are public servants elected to serve the people. It becomes paramount, therefore, to be a role model to all. Transparency and accountability is key.
