Charles B. Wheeler
Charles B. Wheeler was a 2016 Democratic candidate for Governor of Missouri.[1]
Biography
Wheeler is a former mayor of Kansas City, serving in the position from 1971 to 1979. He also ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the U.S. Senate in 1976.[2] Wheeler served in the state Senate from 2003 to 2007.[3] He again ran for mayor of Kansas City in 2011 but was defeated in the primary election. At the time of the 2016 election, Wheeler was 89 years old.

Wheeler ran as a Democrat for Governor of Missouri in 2016 and was defeated by Attorney General Chris Koster in the August 2 Democratic primary election. He competed with Koster, Leonard Steinman, and Eric Morrison in Democratic primary.[1]
