Charles Barrett Mask
Charles Barrett "Barry" Mask (b. July 25, 1959) is a former Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 31 from February 28, 2006 to September 30, 2013. Mask announced his resignation from the state legislature in May 2013, following his appointment as the new chief executive officer of the Alabama Association of Realtors.[1]
Biography
Mask earned his B.S. in Public Administration from Auburn University.[2] His professional experience includes working in governmental affairs with the Alabama Association of Realtors, the Alabama State Employees Association, the Business Council of Alabama and the Alabama Industry and Manufacturers Association and in architecture and engineering as a project manager for the Riverfront Master Plan.[3][2]

Special election
Mask won election in the 2006 special election for Alabama House of Representatives District 31. Mask defeated Don Wharton in the January 24 special Republican primary[6] and defeated Bobby Payne (D) in the special general election, which took place on February 28, 2006.[7][8]

Mask and his wife, Jill, reside in Redland, where they moved shortly after their marriage.[3]
Mask was raised in Montgomery, Alabama, where he participated in a variety of YMCA programs, including Blue Ridge Assembly, Youth City Council and YMCA Youth Legislature. Mask also served as the Student Relations Council President at Robert E. Lee High School. At Auburn University, he became the first official mascot of the Auburn Tigers, known as "Aubie the Tiger," and was named Best Mascot in 1979.[3]
In addition to his service on various boards and involvement in a numerous clubs, Mask also enjoys hunting, fishing and football.[2] Mask is also involved in wrestling; since 2007, the Barry Mask Wrestling Invitational has been held in Wetumpka.[11][12][13][14]
