|I am a graduate of University of Maryland and the University of Massachusetts, and have studied tobacco control and public health at the Johns Hopkins University. After earning my bachelor’s degree in psychology and social work, I began work with the Johns Hopkins University, collaborating with the National Institutes of Health, studying the physical and behavioral aspects of drug addiction in adult and adolescent populations, and the efficacy of treatment modalities in substance abusers both in and out of the criminal justice system. While managing research protocols at NIH, I completed my master’s degree in public health at the University of Massachusetts, School of Public Health and Health Sciences, and earned a certificate of graduate studies in forensic psychology from UMASS, Lowell, School of Criminal Justice. I have published 12 articles in peer reviewed journals, and have presented research findings at international conferences. I have also has volunteered with the Baltimore County Police Department and the Conflict Resolution Center for Baltimore County where I studied the links connecting community policing, public health, and emergency management. While I continue my work at Johns Hopkins, I am also teaching as an adjunct professor at the Community College of Baltimore County.
- Basically, my campaign is to focus on representing the people, addressing their concerns, and voting for or against issues in accord with the opinion of my constituents. I will achieve this by maintaining an open forum with the people on several different venues. Not everyone has internet access, so a mix of face-to-face community meetings, an on-line forum, and attending periodic public events will serve to keep the lines of communication open.
- Repeal laws that do not serve the people; promote needed laws that contribute to the quality of life; stay connected with the people such that I stay informed with YOUR concerns.
- Government needs to get back in the office and SERVE the people again! I will not promote any policy the interferes in that mission.
2) My four brother-in-laws: Billy, who defines ‘tough love.’ Hard working and a loving, yet tough, father, and my friend through many tough times. Fred, who was always there when I wanted (or didn’t want) guidance and is a great leader. Roy, who taught me more then he realizes. And Dan, he’s kind of like a light bulb. He remains quite until you need him, flip the switch and he will light the way. My sisters are all very lucky, they all found great partners.
