Charles E. Butler
Charles E. Butler is a judge of the New Castle County Superior Court in Delaware. He was nominated by Gov. Jack Markell in November of 2012 and confirmed by the Legislature the following month. His current term expires in 2024.[1][2]
Education
Butler received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and his J.D. from Catholic University Law School.[1]
Career
Butler began his career in Philadelphia, PA, working for the firm of Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis as well as the District Attorney's Office. He moved back to Delaware in 1985 and joined the Dept. of Justice as a Deputy Attorney General. He later practiced with Smith, Katzenstein & Furlow and as a sole practitioner. In 2010, he became the Chief Deputy Attorney General. He then joined the Superior Court in 2012.[1]
