Charles "Ed" Bergmann was a judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to this position by former Governor Jeb Bush on February 8, 2002, effective the following month. He replaced former Judge Dick Greco Jr. Bergmann ran unopposed and was retained in the August 24, 2010, primary.[1][2][3] He retired in 2015.[4]

Education

Bergmann was born in Honduras. He received his B.A. in 1967 and J.D. in 1970 from the University of Florida. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973.[2][5]

Career

Bergmann worked as a private practice lawyer, specializing in civil litigation, prior to becoming a judge. He practiced with the law firms of:

  • 1987-1992: Yado, Morse, Bergmann, Newcomer, Musial, Pellegrino & Hall, P.A.
  • 1985-1987: Yado, Keel, Nelson, Casper, Bergmann, Salem, Musial & Morse, P.A.

  • 1972-1975: Yado, Keel & Nelson[5][6]

Awards and associations

  • 1985-1999: Board of Directors, City First Bank[5]

2010 election

Bergmann ran unopposed and was automatically retained to a new term.[3]
