Charles G. Bernstein
Charles G. Bernstein is a judge for the Eighth Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Maryland.[1] He reaches the mandatory age of retirement from the courts in Maryland (70) on December 27, 2009, and is challenging the courts under the Equal Protection clause saying the "state constitution unlawfully creates two classes of judges over the age of 70 — those who hit that milestone while in office, and must retire, and those who become judges after the age of 70, who can remain".[2][3]
Charles J. Peter was appointed by Governor O'Malley to replace Bernstein.[4]
