Biography
Gooden Jr. attended Shearn Elementary School and Lanier Middle School in the Houston Independent School District. He has both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Houston. When first elected to the school board, he was a part-owner and the chief operating officer of Charles D. Gooden Consulting Engineers. He and his wife, Angela, have two children.[1]

Three of seven seats on the Pearland Independent School District board of trustees were up for at-large general election on May 6, 2017. Incumbent Charles Gooden Jr. was the sole candidate to file for the Position 1 seat. Challenger Mike Floyd defeated incumbent Rusty DeBorde in the race for Position 2. Incumbent Pam Boegler defeated challengers Trevor Hale and Al Lloyd in the race for Position 3.[2][3]
